nail of the day: owl attack!

hey everyone,

so this weeks nail of the day i was looking for some inspiration on pinterest, because it is amazing and i found that somebody did some owls on there nails,
i thought this was an awsome idea so i changed the colours abit but kept it near enough the same :D
soo i will show you how to do them to, here we go:

look how cute they are haha :D so these are the nail varnishes i used:

barry m mint green
orly naughty
rimmel lasting finish sunshine
models own wah nails in black
rimmel proffesional finish golden totem
barry m peach melba
(i also used a dotting tool which isnt pictured)

so what i did first was put abit of selotape around my finger to create an oval shape, this is actually pretty hard, haha.
Just make sure that you have stuck it too your finger because you dont want the nail varnish to seep through.

Then i choose my colours, i went for barry m mint green and orly naughty as the base coat, and i alternated the colours on each nail.

i waited for it to dry before taking off the tape and then i used the big side of my dotting tool to create two eyes, i used the rimmel lasting finish in sunshine because i think owls have yellow eyes haha.

looks abit scary at the moment right? so let that dry then use the models own pen in black and use the little needle side and create 2 black eyes in the middle of the yellow dots, then i used the rimmel professional finish in golden totem, this has a curved brush which is great for the little tummy section, i just did a couple of stocks with the brush, and because it was round it did the shape all for me.

then i did the nose :D, cute, i used the barry m peach melba and the thin side of the dotting tool, and just made a triangle shape to look like a nose.

then i went back with the models own pen in black and did a few dots with the needle side on the tummy section.

and da dahhh, done :D

and they look really cute, lets see how many people comment on them :D, i can only wear them for a few days because i cant wear nail varnish to work =[ but oh well

what do you think? will you give it a try?
